About Vikki

Victoria Foss, an effervescent 22 year old graduate from the University of Winchester was completing her teaching training with Portsmouth SCITT, when she died from an acute asthma attack on the 3rd March 2008.
'I remember Vikki as a diminutive 11-year-old and she was an absolute delight. She had an incredible vibrancy and optimism.' Max Coates, former head teacher at Bourne Community College, Southbourne. As a trainee teacher with the Portsmouth SCITT group, Vikki recognised the importance of the child protection legislation which emphasised the need for teachers not to directly comfort young children within the classroom.
Before she died Vikki bought a large teddy bear which she planned to take into her classroom to encourage children to 'Go and give the bear a hug' whenever they wanted a cuddle. This bear has now inspired the AwaaireBear project in memory of Vikki. Help us pay tribute to Vikki's love of children together with raising awareness of the dangers of asthma with the AwaaireBear project.
Similar bears will now be used to not only provide comfort and hugs to young school children but to also highlight the vital importance of asthma awareness in schools. 100% of all profit raised through sales and sponsorship of the AWAAIR E BEARS will go to The AAIR Charity
