January 2009

Awaairebear featured on the front page of the February edition of the Church of England Portsmouth Diocese Paper “Pomey Chimes”.

“For Vikki’s Sake” tells the story of the loss of Vikki to her family coupled with the launch of the Awaairebear Project.

The article tells her story and the project’s development for her father’s Christian perspective.

“This charity was our way of bringing some sense to the confusion we felt after her death, and continuing Vikki’s desire to look after the needs of small children.”

The article goes on to outline the work of AAIR in the research into asthma and the way Awaairebear supports this worthwhile cause.

We are grateful to the support that the Diocese has provided by way of this article, and hope that the project grows and gathers more support as a result.

This was due to the generous support of the Matron and Staff of Springfield Care Homes.

Schools receiving a AWAAIREBEAR are:
  • Emsworth primary School
  • Westbourne Primary School
  • Southbourne Primary School
  • St James CoE School Emsworth
  • Thorney Island School
