In December 2008 AWAAIREBEAR received a most generous support by the nomination of five schools in the east Hampshire/West Sussex area to receive an AWAAIREBEAR.
This was due to the generous support of the Matron and Staff of Springfield Care Homes.
Schools receiving a AWAAIREBEAR are:

- Westbourne Primary School
- Southbourne Primary School
- St James CoE School Emsworth
- Thorney Island School
